about

With great honor I composed these words of a Vietnam war veteran, he served there in the Air Force. His name is Jim Faulkner. Thank you to him for the opportunity to handle something so important as being in a war, fighting for your life and our freedom and being left with war inside to sort out. I hope this song serves as a voice for those that struggle with any mental battles, or PTSD from fighting and serving our country in battle. Thank you!

lyrics

Now I wandered down the wrong road
So many days I missed a turn
ended up in small dark places with
Haunted memories I can’t out run
Falling down to sleep in ditches, phone booth, strangers floor,
jail cells filled with others who've seen their fill of slamming doors
slamming doors, oh oh

I’ve spent these past few years
Traveling down this weary winding wasted road of tears
I’ve lost so many days in flight of trying
To find my way back from another place and time

My memory fails me sometimes kinda fuzzy anymore
Through a hopping passing train, another hobo lost to lore
Ah Loud noises, cars backfiring, even balloons popping,
Recall the screams of men dying can’t see to ever make them stop

I’ve spent these past few years
Traveling down this weary winding wasted road of tears
I’ve lost so many days in flight of trying
To find my way back from another place and time

Came home to a life I should hold tight
To my family my friends and my girl, Couldn’t understand how they'd smile
glad you’re back home in the world
oh but I had to run they didn’t understand, war’s nothing something to talk about
Kill one and then another, the taste of death still fills my mouth

Should I wake up in the morning
My head clear of all the fear
Not sure I wouldn’t just turn around collect my cart and disappear
oh oh ohh

I’ve spent these past few years
Traveling down this weary winding wasted road of tears
I’ve lost so many days in flight of trying
To find my way back from another place and time
another place and time
another place and time
